LOUBRESSAC

Built on the site of a Gallo-Roman settlement, the village grew up behind the ramparts of the 14 th c. chateau, a dependance of the Turenne family until a marriage alliance brought it into the fold of the Castelnaus at the end of the 15 th c. The 16 th c. church has conserved a highly decorated portal, while the v illage itself is an interresting mixture of medieval and renaissance architecture, perched on a cliff-top spur overlooking the Dordogne, with remarkable views over the valley and distantCastelnau.
